The Riverain Outdoor Club completed its season
with its Finals Weekend.
There was an exciting finish in each of the club internal competitions with most of the titles being decided by just one or two shots. (We won't mention the pairs!)
Congratulations to all the finalists.
Thanks to the large number of members who turned up to umpire, mark, make tea and support the games.

The Riverain Outdoor Club completed its 2019 league season
by finishing top of
of the East Bedfordshire League.
Finishing with 9 wins from the 13 games, Riverain advances to Division 2 next season.

The Riverain Outdoor Club held its Triples Day.
This annual tournament was closely fought by 24 members drawn into 8 triples. All games being won by narrow margins.
The winning semi-finalists (Terry Boon, Martin Gray, Di Pearce and Steve Phillips, Chris Bramwell, Geoff Brown) will compete in the final on the clubs finals weekend in September.

The Riverain Outdoor Club held the Jess Parsons Trophy competition.
This annual fixed jack tournament was closely fought.
Brian Mills successfully defended his title, winning by just one point.

The Riverain Indoor Club held its Annual General Meeting.
The meeting was attended by about 30 members.

A gala day was held on Good Friday in the Indoor Club to raise money for charity.
64 Members and their guests played through the day.

Hot news from the Nationals being held at Nottingham:
The Riverain Trio of Sharon Allen, Joan Welch and Jenny Ralph have just won the NAT 0ver 50 Triples with a score of Riverain 17 Shots - Madeira (Devon) 16 Shots.

The Indoor Club's finals weekend has just taken place, with some excellent bowling played in great spirit.

On Saturday, it was a full house in the club as the Indoors and
Outdoors clubs worked out their friendly rivalry with a match against each other.
The indoor club sneaked a victory.

On Wednesday evening at Herts Watford, the Mixed Fours of Joan Welch, Jenny Ralph, Richard Knight and
Glenn Williams reached the National Finals.
These will be held at Hartlepool on 23rd - 24thFebruary.

Unfortunately the Yetton Team went out in the quarter Final Stages of the Yetton Trophy to Dolphin.
Well done for getting this far and we would like to thank the supporters that travelled with the team to give their support.
The Ladies took part in the Vivienne trophy on Thursday against Huntingdon and won after a very tense close game.
The final score was 69/64, this takes the ladies into the quarter finals on February 7th where they will play Colchester.
Devon Cooper is taking part in the Semi-Finals of the Under 25 Singles at Ely Bowls Club this morning.
If successful she will play later this morning in the Final.

24 Members enjoyed a game of target bowls to hone their skills.

We are looking for a Ladies Captain and Ladies Vice-Captain.

The Riverain Ladies won their 3rd round match in the Vivienne Trophy.
They will now advance to play Huntingdon on the 24th January.

The annual Riverain Juniors Generation Game took place on the
12th January 2019 with 12 of our juniors pairing up with a parent to play in a round robin against each other.
After some very good play from all, the last four included our youngest player LillieMay and three of our more experienced ones - Rhianna, Adam and Jamie H.
The eventual winner, with the best shot difference after a brilliant run in all of his games was Jamie who skipped for his Dad.
Well done Jamie – 2019 Generation Game Champion!

On the 5th January the Riverain Ladies won a momentous victory in the Yetton Trophy,
beating the holders, Swale Ladies.
They now play the quarter finals on a neutral green at West Berks (Newbury) against Dolphin.

Congratulations to Devon Cooper in making travelling reserve in the Ladies Senior International Team playing at Falcon IBC from Friday 8th March to Sunday 10th March 2019.
Congratulations to Devon Cooper in making the U25 International Team for the B.I.W.B.C Series at Belfast IBC on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th February 2019.
Congratulations to Glenn Williams in making the U25 Mens International Team to be held on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th February 2019 at Aberdeen IBC Scotland.

The Riverain Outdoor Club held its Annual General Meeting.
The meeting was well attended. All the current club officers were unanimously re-elected for another year.
It was announced that next season's match fees would be £3 per player for both mid-week and weekend fixtures.

The Riverain Outdoor Club held one of its periodic quiz nights in the outdoor pavilion.
Team Who Us? emerged victorious with the Canterbury Belles runners up.

A gala day was held in the Indoor Club to raise money for the Keech Hospice.
64 Members and their guests played through the day.
A total of £520 was raised.

Members enjoyed a fine meal and the club's trophies were presented to the winners.

For the Evening Leagues during the 2018/1019 indoor season.
If an end is killed, the jack will be respotted on the appropriate respot point.
This will prevent the situations seen in the past whereby a game can run late at night to complete 21 ends.
