Riverain Bowls Club

Riverain Bowls Club is a centre for the sport of Bowls in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
There are two separate thriving clubs at our centre, the membership of which are separate.

Affiliated to the EIBA, HIBA , HLIBA and Bowls England.

Indoor Rinks

The Riverain Indoor Bowls Club (founded 1987) has 8 rinks with a large seating area for spectators.

There is a bar and catering facilities which provide hot and cold meals and snacks, serving both our nearly 1000 members and visitors.

The club also has an active and successful Youth Section.

Outdoor Green

The Riverain Outdoor Bowls Club (founded 1990) has a 6-rink green and its own clubhouse adjacent to the indoor building.

Outdoors, we provide snacks during matches for players and guests.
The outdoor club has roughly 50 members.

The club hosts regular social events at the clubhouse, both during the summer and the winter close season.
The quiz nights, race nights and other events are always popular.

We also have a fully stocked shop offering all that a bowler may need.

From measures and chalk, through clothing and shoes to a full range of bowls of all kinds.
Both our new and used bowls are available to try before you buy.

We can be easily reached from the A1. Our bowls centre has ample parking for cars and for a visiting coach.

Vacancy

Riverain has a vacancy for a part-time bar person. The successful candidate will look after the bar of the indoor club during the forthcoming winter season.

Beginners Coaching Sessions

For four consecutive Saturdays, commencing on 7th September, there will be coaching sessions for beginners at the indoor club.
Each session runs from 09:30 to 11:45.

Outdoor season comes to an end

The outdoor season comes to an end this weekend
The candlelight bowls evening is on Friday, starting at 18:00, with a fish&chip supper.
Book now at the outdoor clubhouse. Then volunteers are requested to come on Saturday 21st and help put the green to bed for the winter.
Starting at 9:30, any time you can spare will help.

Stevenage Male Voice Choir performs

The Stevenage Male Voice Choir will be returning to Riverain on 22nd September for another of their popular concerts. Starting at 19:30
Tickets £8 from the office, includes tea and biscuits.
