Riverain is a popular flat green Bowls organisation situated just off the A505 in the village of Walsworth which is on the outskirts of Hitchin, an old market town in Hertfordshire, in the UK.
Riverain is comprised of a small, private limited company with two operating members, Riverain Indoor Bowls Club and Riverain Outdoor Bowls club.
The company's principal objective is to provide a service to the community by promoting flat green bowls through carrying out the business of proprietor of an Indoor bowls Club and an Outdoor Bowls Club - that is its operating members. Facilities for disabled persons are an integral part of the property.
The organisation is managed and operated on a voluntary basis by its shareholders and members, in a friendly environment.
Riverain's major attractive force is its international standard 8-rink indoor green. This feature is backed up by spacious changing rooms, a pleasant lounge area, and bar plus catering services.
Riverain is somewhat unique in that it has a Bowls Shop which is open to both members and non-members. Anyone who purchases a set of bowls from our shop is entitled to half an hour free roll up - provided that rink space is available.
Riverain has also a 6 rink outdoor green with brick built pavilion: as time passes the outdoor green and its surrounds are becoming more picturesque.
Riverain has a commitment to provide safe bowling opportunity and coaching for young people.
